Now it’s time for the actual swing! Start by shifting your weight back onto your rear foot and cocking your wrists back (this is called “taking the club back”). As you take the club back, turn your hips and shoulders so that they are facing away from the target (remember: shoulder turn, not hip turn!). Then, when you reach waist height with the club, start accelerating toward impact.

4. Hit The Ball at Impact

 1. The first step is to take your stance

Having your feet hip-width apart and pointed outward from the center is the correct foot stance for this. To do this, you should lean forward from the hips and bend your knees considerably. This will give you a good foundation from which to make your swing.

2. The second step is to grip the club properly

You want to grip it firmly enough that you have control over the club. But not so tight that your hands start to shake. Make a V with your thumb and index finger on the club, and make sure it’s pointing in the direction of your right shoulder.
